    Ninja 6.5 crashing problem

    Hi Support,

    I am running Ninja 6.5.0.4 release on Windows Vista. After a few minutes of starting it, it is giving the error "NinjaTrader has detected a problem and needs to shut down. Information has been written to the trace file." I had to shutdown it by using File-->Exit.

    This startup problem is repeating like atleast 5 times in a row and am having hard time to start Ninja.

    Is this a stability issue in 6.5.0.4? Please suggest any workaround or any solution to fix this.

    Not sure what this could be. Could you please start NT, select Help > Mail To Support, in subject include "For Ray" and reference this post. I will get back to you once I have received and reviewed.

      Error - Failed to Send Mail

      Hi Ray,

      I tried to do that by Help--->Mail, but I got this error:

      "Failed To send mail. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond"

      Is there anyway to manually send the files, by attaching in email? Where are the trace files located?

        Yes, send the following file to support at ninjatrader dot com and in the subject include "For Ray".

        C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\trace\trace.20080104.txt

              Thanks, I received it.

              For now, please use NT 6 and leave the 6.5 installation alone. One of our developers may need to come back to you and ask a few questions on this particular case. He is out until Monday.

                Hi Ray/Support,

                I can't use NT 6.0, as it did'nt have the workspace save feature and also it was giving some errors long back, that I didn't spend time to debug, as I moved on with latest 6.5 beta release. Ninja 6.5.0.3 was good, and stable, but I have been seeing these problems since I upgraded to 6.5.0.4

                Would appreciate any quick fix/workaround for this in 6.5, until then I am stuck with this problem. I have to use my backup charts( another platform other than Ninja) till this gets resolved.

                  Unfortunately there is no quick resolution apart from rolling back to NT6. Next NT6.5 will hold enhanced trace info which should help up tracking down this issue.

                    Hi Dierk,

                    Do you know when the next 6.5 Beta update would be coming, 6.5.0.5?

                    Also, will the technical developer have a chance to look at the trace file I sent today or tomorrow ?

                      NT6.5 will be out this week. We already analyzed your trace file and came to conclusion to add more traces.
