    EFX / MB Trading data

Now I can see the EFX data working on NT v6.5 I have a couple of questions:

    1. Is Live trading available through my EFX account on NinjaTrader v6.5?

    2. The chart data is only current, there is no historic data that I can see. I have asked MB Trading and they referred me to Ninja. So my question is.. can I get back/historic EFX data to fill in chart gaps from MB/EFX or do I have to leave the computer online 24/7 to maintain gap-less charts ?

    thanks

    1. At this time it is technically enabled however we are not sure if we will release this functionality once NT 6.5 becomes production. Unfortunately I can't give you any more information on this at this time.

    2. MBT currently does not provide historical data. This is something they intend to release soon. Its been work in progress for them for some time. You can do what you suggest or supplement your MBT connection with either eSignal or DTNiQ both which we support for FX historical data in 6.5.

      Thankyou for your reply.

OK, with so much uncertainty regarding EFX support etc I'll leave it then but keep an eye on your product from time to time.

      thankyou

As EFX do not provide historic data, is it possible to have the NT 6.5 charts use my esignal datafeed (thereby giving me a history database) and also allow me to send my forex orders through to my broker EFX ?

This would require 2 connections into NT 6.5: esignal and EFX ?

Is this possible and how would it work.

Yes, I believe this is possible. Connect to MBT first, then connect to eSignal. Open a chart.

Just a heads up if you don't already know this and or if your strategy requires every fraction of a pip to succeed......

The data from one operator (broker or data feed company) most likely WILL NOT match one another. So if you see a bid to sell at 1.234 at eSignal, the trading price at EFX can be 1.236 and 1.232 at FXCM and so on. The market is not centralized.

Of course arbitrage will force the prices to be generally the same but they will not be exact.

            Good luck,
            Don
