Only Primary Workspace Loads Current Day

Sorry if this was asked and answered...I searched and did not find it.

The issue in 6.0 wherein if you were using Market Replay and then connected to live feed and the charts stayed on the replay date has been fixed in 6.5 however only for the primary workspace...i.e. the workspace that you were running when you closed NT.

Today I started NT, after having used MR on the weekend, and the charts went straight to current day data when I connected to live feed. However, later in the day when I checked an alternate workspace, it was not updating and I had to use the Format Data Series option to have it plot today's data.

Hmm. I can't seem to reproduce. These are the steps I have been using:
    1. Create two workspaces with one chart in each workspace.
    2. Connect to an old Market Replay
    3. Workspace 1 updated to Market Replay's time
    4. Workspace 2 updated to Market Replay's time
    5. Disconnect Market Replay
    6. Connect live data feed
    7. Workspace 1 updated to today's time
    8. Workspace 2 updated to today's time
Did you close your alternate workspace and save it after you watched a Market Replay? If you saved that workspace before connecting back to a live feed that would have caused a save on the workspace with the Market Replay's time frames. This can lead to the behavior you described. When you open up that workspace again after connecting to a live feed, it won't revert to the current date because the workspace thinks you saved that time frame for a reason and leaves it as is.

      Good call Josh...must have.

This time, read your message, connected to MR, primary ran, secondary did not, had to use Format Data Series (which had no options...just clicked ok to get 3 charts running), disconnected, connected to live feed, both updated to live feed.

So, it must have something to do with what you did with last workspace as you said.

      Thanks.

I still think this might be a bug.

This morning I started NT and connected to live feed. I am running 3 workspaces and the main/current workspace updated historical data (Zenfire) and started plotting live. Checking my other 2 workspaces, neither had updated and neither was plotting live until I used Format Data Series.

In this instance I had not used Market Replay at all.

The only saving I did was Save All on exit of NT.

I will keep watching this and make sure I do not do any saves other than on close of NT.

Are you changing your charts to older time periods in your other workspaces? If so when you save them during the close of NinjaTrader the "new" time periods you have selected will be saved and the next time you open NinjaTrader they will not be updated to the current date.

If you aren't changing your workspaces (adding more windows/modifying indicators on charts/etc) you can just opt for not saving when you close NinjaTrader. This will preserve whatever settings you had at the open of the workspace. Try fixing the time period of the alternate workspaces, saving them, closing NinjaTrader, next time you use the workspaces don't save them at exit.

            Same Problem

I'm having the same problem in 6.5. Further, every time I try to change a charts period, say from 15 to 30 minutes, the new period chart goes back 2 days (today they went back to 11/19). I have to then manually re-format the date. This happens every time I do this.

If you guys can post exact step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce we would greatly appreciate it. I can't seem to reproduce the change in dates on the charts simply by changing time intervals from 15min to 30min to 15min.

For clarification, you guys are on NT6.5B3?

                Josh,
It doesn't seem to happen all the time. But it is quite simple. I have a 1 minute chart up and decide to see if a 3350Volume chart works better on this day. So, I choose format data series and and select 3350 V. The chart opens and it was from 2 days ago.

Right now it is working properly so I can't duplicate it. I don't know if the date was set for 2 days back or what when I formated the date. But, I had to go back to Format Date and put in the correct date. Then it worked fine. Once again, I am not able to duplicate the problem now. But, it has occurred several times.

Also, this morning when I opened my computer (I had left NT up and running overnight) some of my charts were live and active and several needed to be re-formated.

Thank you for reporting. If you can keep watching it and if you happen to isolate out a reproducible scenario we would greatly appreciate it.
