    Questions and Suggestions....

    Hi...

Several observations and a few questions...

1)...Still...when moving a pitchfork into the space at right, it still disappears as it moves into the blank space at the right, while other graphic objects do not.

2)...Setting up a workspace from the default Control Center window...I got several charts opened and formatted the draw tools as wished. Gave the workspace a name....so far so good. Then added another chart to that workspace & gave the workspace another name...chart tools were still formatted OK there as before. But then in creating a totally new workspace, when adding a Basic window and static DOM to the default control window...both of these had reverted to the initial Ninja default settings, colors etc...is this correct ??....and then when adding a chart to this new workspace, the chart looked & formatted OK as previously set up in a selected template, however now all previously formatted graphic tools have reverted back to the Ninja default settings in the new chart windows....is this correct ..?? ....It seems that once you have formatted the Basic window, DOM and chart draw tools those settings should remain for a new workspace basic window, DOM and all draw tools etc.....but perhaps I am doing something incorrectly....??

    3) In adding a new indicator to a chart....you format it as wished...so far so good...but then the next time you add this same indicator to another chart someplace, you have to reformat to preferred settings again....is there a way to save preferred settings on indicators...??

    4) Just a general comment on color settings on tools and indicators and charts....there seem to be several styles of formatting colors / drop down color windows in Ninja....would it be preferable to have these color selection windows all similar perhaps ??...And...it is a bit time consuming to hunt on a drop down list again and again for colors previously selected....one thing I have seen in another program is... (in the usual somewhat complex tyoical windows color selection windows)....was an added area of little boxes (maybe 15 or 20 colors) for saved preferred colors which one could easily again select from....something like that would save a lot of time and effort.

    5) When formatting a tool, window etc (colors lines etc)....why not have something like a row of numbered tabs below where one could save different formatted settings...and...I am really hot for some user definable icons where one can assign different tools with different settings to an icon....this would give you a lot of options where a number of tools can be formatted in quite different ways.

And ...as usual...thanks for all your time ...and...I have to hand it to you all at Ninja....you guys must have a ton of patience to continually go over stuff like this....

    1) Will look into

    2) Will look into

    3) Unfortunatley there is no way to save preset parameter values on indicators

    4) We do use standard .NET color controls, your suggestions are noted.

    5) Thanks for the suggestion, will add to our list for future consideration.

In general...thank you for providing us with great feedback.

I can't seem to reproduce #1. See screenshots attached.

Is there a specific way you are adding the pitchfork and experiencing your described behavior? Just to clarify, you are drawing these manually right? Thanks.

        Sorry I can't follow on (2).

        Some guidelines:
        - UI appearance does not change as you change the of the workspace
        - default appearance of freshly opened UI components only is non-standard as you have previously saved a customized version of a default template (like with a chart)
        - settings are not (!) taken from the default workspace but only from saved default templates previously saved (inline with above)

          Instructions

          Hi Again...

          Thanks for the info Dierk...

But I'm feeling a little like a monkey trying to type out some Shakespear in setting up workspaces...

When you may have the time....Can you give some specific step by step instructions for creating a first workspace with user formatted tools....then giving that workspace a name.......then on to creating a second named workspace that will have the same chart settings as the first re chart tools colors etc...

          Thanks...Many Thanks....

            Hi Alfred,
            1. Open NinjaTrader. Throw up the charts and such that you want with drawing objects etc.
            2. File->Workspaces->Save As->name it anything you want
            3. Modify the workspace however you want
            4. File->Workspaces->Save As->choose another name
            5. There is a bug here. You will not see both of your workspaces in the quick list. Go to File->Workspaces->Open and choose the first workspace you made.
            6. Both workspaces will now be available in the quick list.

              Alfred,

No worries. Re-read this thread and see what you are talking about. This is a bug and should be resolved for the next update. Draw tool settings should be persisted regardless of workspace.

Thanks for your patience and helping us uncover issues.

                Confirmation....

                Hi Ray...Josh...

Yes...just tried again the steps suggested by Josh....but it is as you say... one can create an "untitled" workspace initially with some charts and draw tools colored as wished....but as soon as you give the workspace a name the draw tools revert to default Ninja colors in the new & now named workspace.....then you can go back to the still "untitled" space and the tool colors are still OK as initially set up there....so for now leaving one workspace as untitled is workable....

                Many thanks as usual ....

                  An Additional Monday Morning Note

Just a note...upon start up with live Zen data this morning, the properties settings on the DOM and Basic windows had reverted to Ninja default settings ...something to probably still check along with other chart tools settings etc that may currently revert for whatever reason....

                  Thanks...

Thanks for reporting. I suspect this is inline with issue below.

                      One more thing....

Hi...have recently noticed the Fibonacci Extensions tool will also disappear as it moved into to the right margin...similarly to the Pitchfork problem reported initially in this thread below...(the Pitchfork is now solved for the next release)....might be worth a look...

                      Thanks...

                          Hi Alfred !

As always, thanks for reporting !

The bug with the Fibonacci Extension disappering also was removed together with the same issue on Andrews Pitchfork disappearing. The fix will be available in the next version.

                          Kind regards,
                          Christian

Range Bars price change countdown For NT 6.5

Is that possible to add a price change countdown for the Range Bars on the Woodie Panel?
                            This would help a lot!
For example : YM set to 20 Range Bars
The countdown would be on top of Woodie CCI Panel
Range=1, 2, 3... etc ( everytime of price range changes this number would change) and another one that subtract 20- range
So we know if range say 3, we have 17 bars to go until the next range bar begin to print.

For example Range =3 ( price range change 3 times) 17( 17 bars for the next bar to print)
                            Thank you for all!

Thanks for your suggestion. We'll add it to the list.

Could you please provide a reference that Woodie recommends this change? Thanks
