Testing strategy on playback connection

In this situation, I would suggest speaking with the developer of the script to see about debugging it in playback using the settings you are currently.

If the SampleMACrossOver is placing trades, this is likely something to do with the strategies logic although this could be the strategy instance. Have you tried removing the strategy from the control center and re adding it after you connected to playback?

If the developer is unavailable but you have the source code, you could also add prints into the script to do some quick checks to see if the logic is running, although this could be troublesome depending on how complicated the developer made the script. Debugging is not a service our support offers but we can take a look at your script to see if anything sticks out as to why it would not work in playback specifically. In that situation, I would suggest emailing our platform support [at] ninjatrader.com.

I'd rather not get involved between you and your developer... I don't work for NT, I just hang out here and help things along or become a PITA at times.

Yikes, not really... it should work?

I'm not sure what was coded by someone else for you, but I have had no issues in running replay mode with my strategies.

Do you have access to the source code or is it protected? Is there some sort of replay check to prevent running in replay?

I'm using replay data and the charts are working well.

No error showed in the log.
I saw in the log "Enabling NinjaScript strategy<strategy name>...".

The sampleMA Crossover is working in the replay mode.

I'm not the developer. someone developed it for me.


Any ideas how to make it work on replay data?

Do you have replay data? Are the charts working? Is this market replay or historical data?


Have you even bothered to try to debug your strategy in replay mode? Is it even enabled or did it disable itself with an error?

Does the SampleMACrossover strategy even work? If that doesn't work - then your strategy probably has no chance.

Hi,

I'm trying to test my real time strategy.
When I'm running it on live data - it works. It sends orders and enter trades.

When i'm running it on playback mode - the strategy doesn't send any order.

What can be a reason for that?
