Market Replay Data takes a very long time to download

    Hi there,

I have have been trying to get the Market Replay Data for the past 3 weeks, for the NQ MAR25 contract, and each day takes about 5mins at a time to download. It will be stuck on the loading data process for a very long time, as shown in the photo. Is this a fault, and if so is there any way to download the data faster?

Any assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello DenzelW,

    Thank you for the message.

Unfortunately, there is no way within NinjaTrader's control to speed up the rate the data downloads.

If it is going slowly, this normally means that:
    • There is a large amount of data to download for those days.
    • Or, there are multiple other people in the world trying to download data from the servers.
      • If multiple people are trying to download data, they are getting put into a queue to receive the data so.
      • So when there are multiple people trying to download market replay, users can see it take longer.

Unfortunately, since there is nothing further within NinjaTrader's control, there aren't any further suggestions for speeding up the Market Replay downloads.

While it is one of the last reasons I'd think, if your local internet connection is slow or intermittent, that can lead to the data taking a long time to load.
    • If you have really fast internet and it is slow, this reinforces that it is being slowed down at the request server and you just have to wait.

Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      I did the following test:
      1. downloaded, and exported MNQ to excel, 10 weeks all the O, H, L, CLOSE in a 10 minute chart from my open charts connected to Ninjatrader.
      2. closed my connection and opened playback
      3. exported MNQ to excel, 10 weeks all the O, H, L,CLOSE in a 10 minute chart from historical data (so not market replay data)
      4. compared each price (so roughly 18,000 prices) from both files
      5. all data was exactly identical for each price. So Historical data is identical to the data of the charts when connected with Ninjatrader.
So I use, for years already, historical data for testing and never saw any problem. I assume that you can use historical data instead of market replay data. That would solve your problem.
