    Drawings lost when switching to Playback connection

    If I use NT on ES E-mini 2000 tick chart and make drawings throughout the day, all the time connected to the NT data.

    At the end of the Day I click Workspace > Save workspace. Then I switch to the Playback connection, automatically it will load up the last day I used when I last used the playback connection.

    Then, if I disconnect from the playback connection and go back to the regular NT connection and re-load the data to get back to today. All the drawings I made throughout the day are now gone. In order to get them back I have to quit the app and restart. Then they will re-appear.

    How come switching connections messes with my drawings in such a way that I have to restart the app? Is there a way to not have this happen?

    Thank you for the message.

    This topic is addressed in a few other forum posts so we will not go too in-depth here since it has already been discussed elsewhere. Here is another example:
    Since the charts are drawn and loaded in Playback using different data than if it was happening in real-time and when it loads the charts in from a live connection, the drawing objects get erased.

    If you want to keep the drawing Objects, it is recommended to make a 2nd version or copy of your workspace to use with playback and then one to use when live to avoid them erasing each other's drawings.
    • Then switch to the respective workspace depending on the connection.

    If you rewind the playback head by dragging it back in time, it will also remove any Drawings you did in that time from the chart because it is like that time and price has not existed yet.

      Hello, I created a new workspace specifically for market playback as above but when switching back to my live workspace still the drawings from my live charts are gone. I have to restart NT to get them back. It's a bit annoying. What is the solution here because this doesn't appear to be it.

        Please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:
        • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
        • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
        • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
        • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
        • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
        • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
          • Send the email

          Thanks done.

          I actually submitted 2 support queries. I'll write this here. What I've noticed is this:

          1. When switching between workspaces (live < > playback). All lines that were set to 'Attach: all charts' remain visible when going back to the live/main workspace. All other lines I have to reboot to get them back.

          2. When testing I accidentally closed my main chart window on the main workspace. I restored it but noticed some lines didn't come back. All lines that are set to 'Attach: all charts' do not get restored. I repeated this with a new chart.
