    Hello Support,

I'm using NT 8.1.1.6 and want to export results from Strategy Analyzer into CSV format.

When you look at the uploaded picture
    • Left side are the parameters used to recreate the test using SampleMACrossover
    • Rightside-Top, the contents of the CSV in text editor
    • Rightside-Bottom, the contents of the same export, but to XLS in Excel.
The export contains 2 iterations of an optimization of SampleMACrossover, iterating the SLOW parameter from 25 to 30.

The Excel export contains 2 strategy iteration results (correct).

The CSV export contains 4. (error) should contain 2.

The CSV export contains an "extra" carriage-return for every strategy export line.
(Almost like is mimicking Excel in "Grouping" by Instrument)

Can you please take a look and let me know.

    Thank you

    Hello rayko,

    Thanks for your post.

So I may accurately assist, please answer the questions below.

What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.?.?)

Are you opening the .csv file in a Text Editor, such as Notepad?

Please also send a screenshot showing all the Strategy Analyzer settings you use to test this and a screenshot showing the optimization results in the Strategy Analyzer.

I look forward to assisting further.

Please note you will have to execute SampleMACrossover once for each date: 2023-04-27 and 2023-04-28.

      Please let me know.

      Thank you

        Hello rayko,

        Thanks for that information.

This is the expected behavior when exporting the results to a .csv file. If you click the drop-down arrow next to the instrument name in the Strategy Analyzer Log, you will see the other two fields that are showing in the .csv file.

When exporting to a .csv file, all four rows of information will export. The results show a date of 4/28 twice, one with the parameters 10/25 and the second with parameters of 10/30. We also see the date 4/27 showing two results. One for the parameters 10/25 and the second for the parameters 10/30.This is why four rows total display when viewing the .csv file.

If you expand the information on the chart by clicking the arrow to the left of the instrument in the Strategy Analyzer Log and export the data to a .xlsx file and open the file in Excel, you will also see four rows of data. When you click the arrow to collapse the 2nd and 4th row of data and export it to a .xlsx file and view it in Excel, you will see the two initial rows.
