    Multi Broker License and Trade Copier Question

    I'm with this prop firm Apex and they provided me with a free NinjaTrader license key and Rithmic login. I also signed up for another prop firm Bulenox who also gave me a free NT license key and Rithmic login. I created two connections in NT8 for these two prop firms, but every time I want to switch from one prop firm to another, I'll need to change the license key as well. Is this normal?

    will upgrading to a multi broker license resolve this issue so I won't have to change the license key when switching between different prop firms?

    with a multi broker license, will I be able to place an order to all accounts at the same time from two different prop firms with my trade copier?

    Thank you for your post!

    Apex and Bulenox likely use different "System" settings when creating their connections in NinjaTrader. The "System" automatically set in the connections due to the license key. This would be why you have to switch between the two license keys prior to connecting to each prop firm.

    There is a single-broker license key and a multi-broker. A multi-broker license key allows you to connect to different brokers (Rithmic, Interactive Brokers, TD Ameritrade, etc.) within your platform and a single-broker is enabled for just one broker (you could connect to Rithmic but not Interactive Brokers). However, you would not be able to connect to two connections of the same connection type (Rithmic in this case) at the same time with either license key.

    Although, if you have a single-broker license key, you would not have to switch license keys each time you switch prop firm connections. You would have your own license key in the platform > connect to Apex > then when done with Apex and want to connect to Bulenox, you'd simply disconnect from Apex and connect to Bulenox.

      the prop firms I'm using mostly use NinjaTrader with Rithmic, so I guess the single broker lifetime license key is all I need for now since I don't plan to connect to a different broker such as TD Ameritrade, Interactive Brokers, etc?

      BTW, any idea when NinjaTrader will be adding Tradovate support (which I'm interested in)? if that happens does it mean I'll need the multi broker license to connect both Rithmic and Tradovate simultaneously?

        Yes, that is correct, if you are not connecting to other brokers you should need only the single broker license key to connect to just Rithmic.

        At this time, you cannot use the NinjaTrader platform to trade an account with Tradovate. Our development teams are working on integrating Tradovate technology more with NinjaTrader. But at the current time, only Tradovate software can trade these accounts.

          Hello Kennedy. Can you please clarify if this post is saying the opposite? (Probably I am not understanding correctly.)
          I want to know if a single broker license allows you to trade with IBKR (stocks) and Apex/Rithmic (futures).

          Hi, I have a NT single broker (Interactive Brokers) lifetime license, and now I applied for a evaluation to be funded at Apex. As you know at Apex they give you a NT license and a Rithmic connection, but if I want to trade both, Apex and Interactive broker with my license I cannot. Is there a way to do it? Thank you!             How does the new multi-provider feature impact this discussion?

            Looking here, (scroll down, look at 2nd image, see step 4), I see
            these two connections available,

            Rithmic
            Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage

            Well, that looks like what I see today with my grandfathered
            M/B lifetime license key!

            Why is this so cool?
            My M/B license allows me to setup Apex on 'Rithmic', and
            Leeloo on the 'Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage' -- and
            NT8 allows me to connect to both at the same time!

            Is this 'grandfather' feature being resurrected under the
            guise of the new multi-provider feature?

            If so, that's a great reason to upgrade. That way OP could
            connect to both prop firms at the same time and use his trade
            copier across all his Apex/Bulenox accounts. In my case it
            would be Apex/Leeloo (which I'm already able to do today
            with my g/f M/B license key).

            Why two Rithmic connections in that screenshot?

                Yes.

                I have a grandfathered Multi-Broker lifetime license, and it
                works quite well. Read my posting here.

                I don't use a 3rd party trade copier.
                I wrote my own.

                  Does anyone know why I get a 503 error when trying to install the Apex Trade Copier on a 2nd computer?

                    Hi daveleonti1226, This error seems to be coming from the Apex package, so please send an email to their support group for information on this 503 error.

                      I had the 503 error too installing the Apex Trade Copier using their Apex Desktop Assistant but i contacted the vps support at ninjamobiletrader.com and they fixed it for me. They said it's something with Apex because people are getting that error on their home computers too, but the vps support team knows how to fix it right away. Maybe they can advise you how to fix it too even if you're not their customer
