    Volumetric Bars

See Pic below. I am using a 1000 Tick Volumetric chart. Is there a way to remove all the numbers to the left and right of each bar so that the chart looks like a normal bar chart? I know I can set the number colors to transparent so they disappear but there is still a big gap between each bar. I want to remove the numbers and move each bar closer together so I am able to zoom out more on the chart and see more bars.

    Hello algospoke,

Thank you for posting on the NinjaTrader forums.

Besides what you already mentioned, there would be no further customizations to this volumetric chart.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with. Thank you!

Ok. Lets say I am creating an custom indicator that drawings an arrow whenever their is a imbalance. This indicator works fine on a volumetric chart. Is there a way to deploy that indicator onto a normal 1 min bar chart (not a volumetric 1 min chart)? I don't need to see the values of the imbalance (that is why i want to remove it), i just need to see the arrow that the indicator provides

        Hello algospoke,

I think I see the vision you're painting - however you would likely need two data series on the same chart (1M chart and a 1M Vol). When you add the indicator you can have it use the data from the 1M Vol chart but change the panel so that it is displayed on the 1M chart.

Luis. Thanks for the helpful quick feedback. Is there a way to hide that 1 min Volumetric chart so that it is not visible (i.e. i dont want the split screen... just want to shown the one 1 min chart)?

            Hello algospoke,

You can actually drag that horizontal divider all the way down to hide it, I just kept it in my screenshot for the sake of showing you that you can have two data series on one chart.

            Thank you!

              Luis,

That works however there is still a large gap between each bar on the 1 min chart.See below pic of a side by side comparison. The top chart is a 1 min chart with a 1 min volumetric hidden just as you suggested (i.e. their are two data series). The bottom chart is simply a 1 min chart. As you can see with the bottom chart on the x-axis, I can zoom out almost about 20 hrs whereas on the top chart I can only zoom out to 1 hr. I believe this is because the 1 min volumetric data is hidden and won't let me zoom out more. How do I get the top chart to look like the bottom chart.

Additionally, I was able to transfer my indicator from the volumetric chart to the regular 1 min chart. I appreciate the help on that. However, one part of my indicator didn't transfer. The part of my code that draws a rectangle stayed on the 1 min volumetric chart while everything else transferred to the regular 1 min chart with no issues. See below for a snip of that code. Why wouldn't this transfer over to 1 min chart like the rest of the indicator?

                Hello algospoke,

This is expected since the chart will accommodate to the volumetric data series. With the volumetric data series hidden the X axis is accommodating to its scaling and not the 1 minute chart - you might be able to play around with the order of the panels to see if this fits your needs but I haven't been able to get them to look like a native 1 minute chart.

As far as the second part of your question, this is outside of my wheelhouse as I don't do any custom programming. If you need assistance with this please email us at clientservices@ninjatrader[dot]com.

                Thank you!
