Thanks, QuantKey_Bruce for your remarkable, professional dedication to this. Truly commendable!

Given these things really should have been done by NinjaTrader as part of good QA, one can only hope that they will now work with SecureTeam to ensure this is rectified for all NinjaTrader Edition customers ASAP.

    Thanks.

SecureTeam says they are working on a solution for this. It is starting to seem like this may take the form of a new Agile.NET download, rather than a new version of NinjaTrader, but we'll see.

So long as it is fixed and makes exporting/importing between any versions of the platform work as expected, I will be satisfied. It must be backwards compatible so that anything going between 8.1.x.x and any other 8.1.x.x works, and anything between 8.0.x.x and any other 8.0.x.x also works.

        Thanks.

I think the actual standard is higher than that - anything exported by the latest version 8.1.2.x and the latest Agile.NET should be importable and work on 8.1.2.x, on 8.1.1.7, and on 8.0.28.0. 8.0.28.0 should not require a separate distributable.

Notwithstanding these compatibility issues, does using the 'full' version of Agile confer greater protection than using the NinjaTrader version?

              Comment

Well, not per se... the full version gives you control over some things that you would not have control over, so you can do some specific kinds of protective techniques... for instance, you can create custom virtual machines with their own pretend MSIL versions and this is harder to reverse engineer... but just using the "full" version instead would not automatically do this... you would have to elect to use these features and configure them. And, not all of the advanced techniques supported by the full Agile.NET are compatible with NinjaTrader - only some of them are.

Hello Bruce, do you have more information about this, is there any news or even an update?

                      Hello sidlercom80,

                      Thanks for your notes.

SecureTeam pushed out a change to allow the NinjaTrader version of Agile.NET 6.9.1.2 to work the same as the full version of Agile.NET 6.9.1.2.

To export assemblies protected with Agile.NET, make sure you are updated to NinjaTrader Desktop 8.1.2.1 and use Agile.NET 6.9.1.2.

See this help guide page for more information and for a download link to Agile.NET 6.9.1.2: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...l_security.htm

NinjaTrader_BrandonH How were customers notified that Agile.NET 6.9.1.2 changed in this way? How can we tell apart the "old" 6.9.1.2 from the "new" 6.9.1.2?

I received an update from SecureTeam with Agile.net ver 6.9.1.5 last week, when I had asked for the latest version and this is still happening.

                          "Latest version is 6.9.1.5

                          Regards,

If anyone else has access to 6.9.1.5 and can confirm if they are having the same issue.

                              Hello QuantKey_Bruce and Jdmtrader,

                              Thanks for your notes.

I am not aware of how you can tell apart the previous 6.9.1.2 version from the current 6.9.1.2 version.

Secure Team has implemented a short-term fix by making the NinjaTrader Edition version behavior for all match the Commercial Edition version. This means that to export protected assemblies from NinjaTrader 8.1.2.1 you will need to use Agile.NET version 6.9.1.2 which you can download from the NinjaTrader help guide documentation linked below.

In an upcoming NinjaTrader release, the issue should be fully resolved.

Jdmtrader, Agile.NET 6.9.1.5 is not supported to use with NinjaTrader 8.1.2.1 at this time. Agile.NET version 6.9.1.2 needs to be used as noted above.

I have exported my add-on in NT 8.1.2.1 using the version of Agile.net 6.9.1.2 obtained from the url provided (https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...l_security.htm)

I am still getting the error as everyone else is having when trying to load the add/on within 8.1.1.7 and earlier. This did not resolve the issue using this version. Can anyone else confirm the same issue?
