    Charting far out future contracts

    hi

    I do have an email with nt support but wanted to get forum opinion on this as well. So i'm having trouble charting far out contracts. For example, even though level 1 data has quotes for EURO BOND GE 06-16, when I add that to the chart, nothing is charted. Zero values are returned. Why is this happening. The entire purpose of future contracts is to be able to buy far out future contracts (think farmers, oil delivery etc). Now if I can't plot those, thats terrible.

    For example a popular spread is on the EURO BOND;

    Buy current year december contract
    Sell next year december contract

    In terms of volume, the volume is actually more for future contracts that go out 5/10/20 years, than present year.

    CME Group is the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace offering the widest range of futures and options products for risk management.

    It must be continuum. Because I disconnected from continuum and connect to kenetic free EOD data. And the charts were able to populate for far out futures.

      Hello calhawk01,

      Yes, unfortunately there is no historical data available for the GE 06-16 when connected to NinjaTrader Continuum.

        Thats terrible. Is there a complete list of stuff continuum supports or doesn't support? ZN.. 10 year UST, one of the most active traded future contracts also goes only 2 expiration out. It doesn't even have 12-15...only has 06-15 and 09-15. Whatsup with that? What about rithmic? Any suggestions on a solution here would be great.

          Unfortunately there is no such list available.

          When connected to Continuum or Rithmic, historical data is loaded from our servers. Unfortunately our historical data servers do not support the data in question. You will need to connect to a supported data feed provider that provides such data. We support the following data feed providers in NinjaTrader:

          Kinetick

          DTN IQFeed

            I believe your data center houses futures data for expiration that are far as 6 months? Well ES 12-15 doesn't have any data when connected to continuum. Ok so let me get this straight, if I am connected to, for example IQ FEED, I can route my orders for far out expiration contracts with ninja broker, since IQ FEED will have later expiration dates? Also, if IQ FEED also supports exchange traded spread quotations, will I be able to route those as well? Using continuum, i am able to route orders and receive quotes on popular spreads, for example, calender spreads on CL. But once the order is actually executed, rather than the exchange traded symbol for the spread, the execution was done on each legs, for example buy CL X month and Sell CL Y month.

              Yes, once you receive realtime data in NinjaTrader, you can submit orders. If no realtime data is received, no orders can be submitted from NinjaTrader.

              Unfortunately exchange traded spreads are not supported in NinjaTrader.
