Edit trade entry markers and text

    Hello,

Is it possible to programmatically edit the text and/or markers of plot executions that are automatically added to the chart?

Now I know this may not be official supported by NinjaTrader, but if it's possible to point me in the right direction as to which plot functions I should probably override, I think I can take it from there.

    Thanks

silacitrader, I would unfortunately not be aware of something I could point you to for this item, what would you be looking to change? For strategies the entry exit names would be customizable per se via the various overloads for trade entry / exit.

Bertrand, I actually need to keep the entry/exit identifier which I'm specifying in my strategy, but I just wanted to remove the additional line appended to it (size at price). It's making my chart a bit overcrowded since I have multiple consecutive entries and exits.

I'm sorry if this is sounding like a weird or off limits request.

No worries, it's good to know what you're trying to achieve and this touches also an enhancement suggestion we keeping track of in product management. Current options would be

        1. no plots at all
        2. Show the markers only
        3. Show the text and markers (default)

What you cannot do however is cumulate those, so it's per execution.

I would not have a readymade example, but for customization you could for example choose to not show everything the default has to offer and then add via drawing objects or potentially via more flexibile C# drawing in an overriden Plot() method. Imho though that would be a 'long stretch' to look into and not sure if worth the efforts.

Thanks Bertrand, you're probably right anyway.
