The objective of this thread is to gather together all tips / issues / concerns & improvement proposals linked to the integration of Investor RT and NinjaTrader new ATI.
Indeed, since its latest 8.1.5 release (dated Dec 21st ), Investor RT of http://www.linnsoft.com is integrating the new DLL automated trading interface of NT5 inside its global set of “trading order” features. (This way, you may enjoy the new ninja ATI without having to write any line of code or having any programming knowledge)
For the record, in term of automated trading, Investor RT supported the Order Instructions Files (OIF) way of managing trading orders, back since June 03. An extended tutorial (dedicated to the OIF file format, as per NT version 4) is available here : http://www.linnsoft.com/autotrading/ and some tips were already mentioned as well in this forum, for example here http://ninjatrader.mywowbb.com/forum3/414.html
However, the integration of the new ATI within IRT will greatly facilitate the way NT and IRT communicates when it comes to fully manage an automated trading system, especially in term of integrating the real trade feedback information, so it might provide a much more efficient/flexible approach than the OIF one..
Of course, this new integration of NT ATIs should be considered "beta test" at this time. The implementation is still in progress : the basic functionality is in place but further work is needed for more advanced usage, e.g. advanced trading order placement using the IRT Trading system indicator (TSYS), which will require more support of the OrderId parameters.
Any further progress concerning the NT / IRT integration will be reported in this thread.
I very much encourage any IRT users (resp. NT users) having no experience with NT (resp. IRT) tohave a lookto this new combination…
