Just writing to let you know that development has identified the issue and will be resolved in the upcoming release of NT V7.0.1000.8. We do not yet have an ETA on this release

Backup and restore of global and local objects now works great in V8....Thanks...!!

Question though...when doing a restore should workspaces be closed and just the Control Center open ??....or is it best to run the backup file with NT closed...??
The Help area is not clear on this....

We're currently looking into this with development as there is a bug related to this subject that has been identified.

And has development identified the problem of Global Cbjects not being restored as discussed below...??...is that the bug you are refering to...??

Just ran another backup / restore...with a workspace open...had a toolbar and 2 local draw tools in a chart....after restore and having left the workspace open...local draw objects did not restore (after deleting objects after backup)...and the toolbar did not restore (after deleting toolbar from original window)...then closed Ninja (and selected no to all).....then upon restart draw tool objects showed OK, and toolbar showed again...

Is this what you need...??

In your experience, do other areas of the workspace restore? It is only the local drawing objects?

Do these appear of restarting NinjaTrader if you do not select "Yes to all" or save the workspace before restarting?

It will still restore however if you save the workspace when you close it or close NinjaTrader and click yes to all this will overwrite your restored workspace with your old one.

Its always a good idea to have NinjaTrader shutdown when restoring backups. I like to always just double click on the backup file to start the restore with NinjaTrader shut down.

Still looking at this area....when a workspace is open and one does a restore ...chart draw tools (non global) will not restore on a chart....they will only restore if the workspace is closed before the restore...is this a bug or is this expected...??

It should not many any difference if the workspace is open or closed, as long as you are not actively making changes to this workspace during this process.

One more question this backup restore area....when doing a backup....does it perhaps make any difference if workspaces are open or closed ??

Restore question...

Have noticed that when doing a restore, a workspace must first be closed to be restored....while if a workspace is open when one elects to do a restore, nothing gets restored there...then if you close that workspace and do another restore, the restore will then appear OK upon reopening the workspace...

Is this correct...that all workspaces must first be closed in order to restore them correctly....?? There is nothing in the NT Help area on this.....
