    EMA from minute chart on tick chart?

    Hello,

    just wanted to know if its possible to get an EMA from the 1 or 5 Minute chart drawn on my tick chart for better timing?

    Thank you for your note.

    Yes, that is possible.

    First, you'll need to add a five-minute data series to the chart. If you'd like, you can disable the plotting of this series by setting candles and wicks to display in the color 'Transparent'. You'll also want to set the secondary series to use Panel 1 for display.

    When you apply the SMA indicator, one of the indicator properties is the 'Input Series'. Please select the 5 minute series in that property when applying the SMA indicator.

      thanks for your quick reply,

      that works, but the look of the tick chart is useless now. sometimes huge space between the bars, and sometimes so little that the bars cant be read properly.
      any ideas?

        Hi philipp,

        This is referred to as equidistant bar spacing - essentially, the spacing of the data is adjusted so both data series can use the same scale. Unfortunately, there's not a method to overcome this on a multi-series chart.
