I had connection issues. Computer NT disconnecting from internet frequently. I have Vista and would run Vista defrag program weekly. The program said the hd was defragged successfully and did not need to be defragged. Bottom line is this internal defrag program is broken. If you have Vista and connection issues download a program called defraggler. It is free and works great. Defraggler analyzed my hard drive and found it 44% fragmented. I defragged my hard drive with Defraggler and have had no connection issues since.
