    Adding stocks from foreign exchange

Just downloaded NinjaTrader and got the program up and running. I've manage to do some basic charting too with some of the data from NYSE.

However, my main interest is doing charting with Swedish stocks. I'm connected to Yahoo which do have quotes for the stocks I'm interested in, but I don't understand how to add those stocks to Ninja Trader. None of the stocks are available in Instrument Manager.

    How do I add (say) SWED-A.ST (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=swed-a.st&ql=1)?

Welcome to our forums JakobR - correct most liquid US stocks are presetup, unfortunately you would need to setup the foreign stocks you need - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...e_database.htm

As currency use the SwedishKrona and as symbol map the Yahoo ticker symbol they would list when requesting the data on their finance pages.

Is there a tutorial how to write your own data feed? It would be very nice if you could present the source code for the yahoo data feed connection.

JakobR, unfortunately there's no such an example available as we would not support the custom feed creation.

I understand that you don't support external data feed, but is there no chanche to have see the source code for the Yahoo data feed? It would be very easy to modify that code to other data providers ...

Unfortunately that's not possible, as it's using proprietary code that we could not make public.
