Please try deleting the symbol from the Master Instrument List, not from your custom or default lists on the left side. Tried it with one symbol from my master list and the data was deleted as expected.

If you look at my first post, you will see that removing the symbol from the active listing to remove historic data does not appear to be working properly. You should be able to reproduce this.

After this you can do a Repair DB (Tools > Opotions > Misc) to compact and optimize the database.
If I am unable to remember which instruments and dates are involved, are there any other alternatives???

    Instruments & Historic Data Issues

    Hi,

When an instrument is removed from the instrument list, is the historic data for that instrument also suppose to be removed at the same time?

Becouse it is not. With my data sources disconnected, I added an old ES expired instrument to NT and then requested historic data from last fall.

NT had no problem displaying this data onto a chart.

I have to believe that all historic data that has not been specifically deleted, is still being maintained inside NT.

How can I clean up this "mess" of unwanted data from instruments no longer being used?

    Please advise!!

    RJay
