Also, can you give us the ability to expand the y axis so that the high/low can move beyond the visual area of the chart (triggering the black arrow in the upper right corner, facing down)?

BarWidth Constant
Is there a setting to allow us to drag the x axis to spread the bars apart, yet keep the bar width constant?

Thank you for your post.
1.) Unfortunately this is not possible. You can use Ctrl + up/down to change bar spacing, but the bar width will change. You can use Alt + up/down to adjust the width.
2.) Unfortunately this is not possible. It is on development's list of possible future enhancements for NinjaTrader 7.
-As a workaround, you can use the "constant lines" indicator to create two constant lines above and below price range and set "auto scale" to true. You can change the color of the lines to "transparent" if you don't want them to show on a chart.Ray S.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Unfortunately you cannot shrink the y axis further than the high of the price of your current chart view as the chart is automatically scaled to price and there is no way to avoid this.
I will forward your request to development as a possible future enhancement.
Have a great day and happy trading!Ray S.NinjaTrader Customer Service

It would be very much appreciated if you could add a feature, in the coming version of NT, to allow us to customise the y-axis so that it isn't scaled to price. This is a highly important feature for elliot wave, gann, and in fact any price/time analysis methods, and presents a lot of issues to work around. I'm sure you are aware of this, but the flexibility of charting in Metatrader is fantastic, and if you could move NT in this direction, it would be a fantastic step forward.
If this is already a possibility, any advice as to how to implement a fixed y-axis would be appreciated.Last edited by vrumchev; 12-08-2008, 06:21 AM.

Unfortunately this is currently not supported.
It will be supported in NinjaTrader 7; its beta version is expected to be released the first quarter of 2009.Last edited by NinjaTrader_Jason; 12-08-2008, 09:57 AM.JasonNinjaTrader Customer Service
