Hello aaadetos,
Thank you for your reply.
For all intents and purposes in this scenario, NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8 can be considered entirely different applications. You may even be getting this error specifically because you are using the same app password for both. I would suggest creating a separate app password for NinjaTrader 7, you can call it 'NinjaTrader 7'.
Please let us know if this does not work for you.

I did use a generated app password with NT8, specifying "NinjaTrader" as the app.
I'm using this same password for NT7, which is giving me the error.
Do I generate a different password for NT7? Do I call it "NinjaTrader 7"?
I'm worried that if I do call it "NinjaTrader", it will stop working on NT8.....
Please advise.

Hello aaadetos,
Thank you for your reply.
I'd suggest trying to create an app password for NinjaTrader 7 within Yahoo's setting, and using that password within the SMTP settings of NinjaTrader 7. In my testing, that was the only way that I was able to successfully send my test message when using a Yahoo account. You may read about create an app password at the following publicly available guide;
If you use a 3rd-party email app to access your Yahoo Mail account, you may need a special code to give that app permission to access your Yahoo account. Learn how to create and delete app passwords.
Additionally, any time you make changes, please be sure to hit 'OK' first within the window to apply the change and reopen the Options window to send the test message.

Hello aaadetos,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Please share a screenshot of your SMTP settings in NinjaTrader 7.
To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.

Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

I look forward to your reply.
